Bluebird Productions is a boutique production company which specialises in producing beautiful, thought provoking and emotionally charged work. The company was founded by Producer Alexandra Blue as a vehicle for high quality narrative driven short films, but it is now expanding to television, feature film, cross platform and interactive projects.

Alexandra is a passionate and creative producer, committed to telling stories that reach out to an audience and create emotional connections. She was named Emerging Producer of the Year at the South Australian Screen awards last year, which adds to her recent accolades including receiving a 'Highly Commended' in the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards in 2013, and ‘Best Emerging Filmmaker’ Award at the Shorts Film Festival in 2012. 

Alexandra’s latest short film ‘Welcome to Iron Knob’ was nominated for an Australian Academy Award (AACTA) and received Best Screenplay at Sydney Film Festival, Best Short Film at St Kilda Film Festival and the Silver Shorts Award at Shorts Film Festival, in addition to nominations at Palm Springs, Raindance and Heart of Gold Short Film Festivals. 

In 2014 Alexandra completed a 6 month producer internship with Warp Films and a 6 month placement Element Pictures as part of the Screen Australia Talent Escalator Program. She recently took part in the SAFC’s Digital 360 Lab with an animated children's television series called '13th Jewel' and the SAFC’s D-Lab with a feature project, in addition to the Creative England Talent campus program in the UK. She is currently developing her first feature film and long form slate.
